Otaku Mode Website Enters Public Beta!
To all otakus: after many months of work, I’m pleased to announce that the Otaku Mode (18+) version of the website has entered the public beta phase! For the first time, visitors can now view blog posts and pages that were previously hidden. This gives visitors the opportunity to learn much more about what this version of the website has to offer in the present and in the future.
Unlike the normal version, the Otaku Mode version provides unrestricted access to OME projects, catalogues and entries, meaning age-restricted content are accessible. Here’s what you can expect to see when you’re browsing this version of the website:
- Unrestricted access to all AnISO & ViNISO (both all-ages & 18+) entries from both PISO & PLOT catalogues
- Unrestricted access to all patch entries for both ENL and JPL ViNISOs
- Otaku Mode-exclusive blog posts, pages, features and other content
- And much more in the future!
As for both normal and Otaku Mode versions of the Contribute pages, public previews are now available. Because the pages are still a work in progress, expect frequent updates and changes. Details such as the available clubs/guilds applicants can apply to, club/guild perks and benefits, and other ways to contribute (without joining a club/guild), are being finalized.
Lastly, this version of the website is also designed with user safety in mind. Thus, various safety measures are in place to protect both otakus and “non-otakus” when accessing pages and/or blog posts with sensitive content:
- A dedicated FAQ & FYI page for both new and returning otakus (visitors) is available to inform everyone about what to expect when browsing though the Otaku Mode version.
- The Otaku Mode website is age-gated by default, all visitors (except Site Admins and signed-in users) are prompted to verify their age before accessing the website.
- All suggestive and explicit images have a gaussian blur filter applied, all visitors must interact with the filter to remove the effect and see the sensitive image.
- The “Mr. Otagiri’s Otaku Level” dynamic sensitivity level visual indicator placed at the beginning of specific pages and blog posts will inform visitors about the kind of content they’ll expect to see.
- A Panic Mode toggle (via the Escape key or pressing a dedicated button located at the bottom-right corner) is readily accessible to instantly hide the current page from “non-otakus”.
With all that said, kindly take your time browsing this version of the website and from one otaku to another: I wish you luck on your waifu hunting endeavors!
