Welcome to WordPress, me. To anyone who’s also reading this, hello there! This is my first post that I originally created last year, and yet it took until today to actually say something about it. In retrospect, getting this website running and seeing it for the first time was arguably the defining moment for the self-hosting project that would be known later on as Project Spotlight.

In fact, there were many times where I honestly thought that self-hosting my own website was nearly impossible and wanted to give up, relying on some web hosting service instead and swallow the monthly or annual costs. Thankfully after giving myself a little push and watching some video tutorials on YouTube, this website came to be. Here’s to hoping that with the launch of this self-hosted website, I can share more experiences and milestones with other people, like you who might be reading this post right now.

With that said, I say this to myself:

“Mom, dad, I did it. I finally did what I thought was a pipe dream. I’m going to step into the world of blogging for the first time. I now have a home on the internet!!!”
